"This is a Shaman’s rattle carved to look like an Oystercatcher from the beaches of our coast. On the back of the Oystercatcher is a Mountain Goat and then in between the Mountain Goat and the Oystercatcher on his back is a Shaman torturing a Witch. In our culture, ‘your’ shaman, ‘your’ medicine man, was a Shaman, ‘their’ medicine man was a Witch. So what he’s doing is trying is to get this bad guy to take back the evil things that he’s trying to do to your people. And then on the bottom you see the Oystercatcher’s feet and then his wings and then his Human Spirit. The beak of this Oystercatcher is made of mastodon ivory and the hair is whale baleen and horsehair."
