"This panel is called Forty Years, it represents my 40 years as a working native artist. Each one of the faces around the panel represents 10 years of my career. The inner design is the Eagle, which represents me holding an adze, which is a carving tool for totem poles and other things. It also represents my grandfather, the language we’re trying to preserve, all four of my sons in the wings and the tail, and then my wife and my grandson in the belly of the Eagle. The eye also to me represents my granddaughter, the daughter of my son Zach."
