“There wasn't much I could go off of for what autumn represents in Ts'msyen country because it has more to do with harvesting and feasting. I went with a more common theme for Autumn, such as the vibrant colours of the leaves. The design is also meant to convey the idea of the leaves blowing in the wind. The image I used for inspiration was of an Indigenous woman further along in life, maybe late 30's or early 40's. I chose this to go along with the progression of the seasons and to acknowledge that these women are usually the ones that make our feasts/potlatches happen.”
