For this painting I’ve depicted the mighty kingfisher bird riding the currents of the wind towards home, under a twilight star map. He’s heading back after a long successful day of fishing and providing for his family. The stars are just starting to appear in the twilight sky...  the same stars that have guided our traditional navigators home for thousands of years. I’ve always loved these hearty little birds and their strength and determination helped inspire me to paint this work.
