Born on July 17th, 1976 in Cape Dorset, Tim Pii has been creating art since he was 15 years old. Tim is the grandson of Kananginak Pootoogook and is also related to well known artists Johnny Pootoogook and Ashevak Adla. He learned much of his carving skills from Audla Pii. His favorite subject matter is the polar bear, which he carves in a variety of different positions. Tim's bears have garnered significant attention over the years and have established him as one of the most talented carvers on Baffin Island because they are very well executed and have excellent form.
