"Humbly and bumbly, then when confronted, Killer! Killer! Killer!"

- Clinton Work

Echoing the Kwakwaka’wakw Bumblebee character, Politicians lays out in black, white and yellow a superb interpretation of the political tumult of 2020. The faces are crowded together and interlocked by their mouths, indicating both the cacophony and repetition of political noise. The mouths are inviting and repulsive in succession, showing the dual nature of people who use slippery words they believe the public wants to hear, but have explosive reactions when they’re put under the pressure of truth.  Their eyes are stretched and searching, always seeking anything that can be used to cling to power, to foster advantage or to insert into another seemingly endless campaign for control. Or are the voices that push for fairness, justice and equality and those that speak for the unheard, finally breaking out of the old system to fight for change?
