Clinton’s superimposed characters show the multi-dimensional nature of Northwest Coast form and design. Layered one over another, they play with the concept of simplicity versus complexity. Four unique images remind us of four aspects of life.
Frog represents the cycle of life and reproduction. The little amphibian begins as a group of eggs, becomes a tadpole and then a full grown frog, ready to lay eggs of it's own.
