"Don't get me wrong, I love Pete Carroll. I have loved Pete Carroll since he was the head coach at USC, a rather sacrilegious thing for any self respecting Duck fan to say. I was watching the Patriots/Seahawks game and couldn’t help but notice both coaches, Belichick and Pete Carroll, try to no avail to wear their masks correctly. Their masks migrated across their faces like cloth caterpillars that almost never settled in the right place. At the half, someone must have reminded Pete to wear his mask, because he grinned a guilty grin and pulled it up as he ran off the feild. Thus the painting was born in my mind, with the mask pictured in green as it’s own little being.

For me, when I think back to the Seahawks' pandemic season, I will think of Pete Carroll trying to wear a mask."
