Some of the collages are: Vintage 1951 Sears Roebuck and Co. wallpaper samples, 22kt gold leaf, arches watercolor paper. In the 1950’s the Sears and Roebuck and Co. catalogue was the means of shopping and viewing the western trends for remote Alaskan villages. Trends that were widely irrelevant but yet still imposing, as western civilization encroached on traditional ways of life. I am fascinated by these old wallpaper samples. Beautiful, aspirational and antiquated.
