In the 1950’s, the Sears and Roebuck and Co. catalogue was the means of shopping and viewing the western trends for remote Alaskan villages. Trends that were widely irrelevant but yet still imposing, as western civilization encroached on traditional ways of life. I am fascinated by these old wallpaper samples. Beautiful, aspirational and antiquated.

These focus on laundry and the combination of high and low brow decor is a gleeful intersection. All the collages are one of a kind.
