Dylan Sanidad

Ts'msyen

Born in Victoria, in 1986, Dylan Thomas (Qwul’thilum) is a Coast Salish artist and member of the Lyackson First Nation (Valdes Island), through his grandfather, Clifford Thomas. He currently resides in Victoria, B.C.

Dylan was born in Seattle in 1992. He descended from a long line of artists from the Tsimshian  Nation. His grandparents, Carol Brown and Gerald Charles, and great-great grandfather John Wallace, are from Hydaburg, Alaska.

His name is Tgi Daxga Skiik and he has Haida, Tlingit and Filipino ancestry,  but he is a member of the Gitxon House of the Eagle Clan, as a matrilineal descendant of his great-great grandmother, Dorothy Wallace from Gits’ilaasu.

Dylan is very proud of his heritage and of being able to create artwork in the style of his ancestors. He is currently apprenticing under Tsimshian Master Carver David A Boxley.
