“As part of the Haida Nation, I am blessed by the traditions passed down by many generations and the artistic talent and cultural connection of my parents and grandparents. Art, culture, and the wonder of nature are part of everyday life. Through art, singing, and dancing, I bring our culture into the lives of our two daughters. I’ve lived in Haida Gwaii all my life. All I do – in the cultural realm -  is what I have to do. It is a responsibility to show people what we have and who we are. Just as I continue to learn about my culture – I have to teach others as well.”
